“I think there has been a tremendous payoff from it,” Kaplan said. “I think it’s really brought our team closer together, and it’s really given us confidence in close games. They try to teach you that going through this training makes you mentally tougher than other people. It taught us that our job is just to find an excuse or reason to win. I think it’s really worked for us. We’ve had a lot of close games or games where we’ve fallen behind, but we’ve come back and scored a few goals to win games. I think the Navy SEAL training was critical to our success.”
